The Homestead is a typical late Victorian Australian timber house featuring corrugated iron roofing and bullnose verandah. Our standard version of this doll house features tiled roofing - but the option of substituting corrugated iron roofing and dormer windows is available.The double hung windows and louvred shutters are characteristic of this style of house. Refinement was usually focused around the entrance - with the front door embellished with sidelights, a fanlight and half-glazing. Attic access is possible by inserting a right-angled staircase in the central room.
The Homestead Dolls House was used by Paul Dastoor from the University of Newcastle on the ABC's The New Inventors show September 23, 2010 to demonstrate how solar paint can generate electricity.
